FAQ
TIP
Pre-shoot
Do you shoot for free? What are your rates?
I’m not a commercial studio or a professional service provider — I’m just an independent artist using photography to support a charitable mission and build meaningful creative relationships along the way.
I don’t charge fixed rates, but I do ask for a pay-what-you-can contribution toward my fundraising goals of the season, which helps me continue offering this work to others and supporting causes I care about. Individual contributions have ranged from $5 to $60.
I’m a beginner, can I request for a shoot?
Yes, as long as you are willing to learn
Can I shoot in casual cos or original outfits?
You are more than welcome to design and coordinate your own original outfits for the character you have in mind — I’m more than happy to support your creative visions. But it has to be a cosplay of a character of some kind — the bare minimum is a matching wig.
If you want to shoot complete casual, that’s a modelling photoshoot and I will refer you to my professional photography services brand.
Do you do group shoots (2+ people)?
Not for free, and everyone needs to pass my requirements. I perform best in small, solo/duo shoots.
Do you participate in mass shoots (10+ people)?
Not for free, and I probably don’t want to shoot everyone, but maybe a smaller subset.
Do you shoot at conventions/events?
I prefer not to, I mostly do dedicated shoots at an arranged location, because convention locations are usually boring. We can still arrange a shoot on a con day if you’re willing to travel somewhere else.
Do you do NSFW/sexy shoots?
No.
During the shoot
Can I bring someone to accompany me?
Yes, and it is actually strongly recommended — you can bring your friends, parents, grandparents, pet cat, dog, dragon, in any reasonable number.
What if it rains?
I generally cannot shoot in the rain, so we’ll just have to wait it out and improvise somehow.
Post shoot & Usage Rights
Can I get the RAW photos?
Can I edit the photos?
It must not change the creative direction or introduce significant technical artifacts.
Regarding body image editing (e.g. Meitu), I strongly oppose it out of principle, but in the end it’s your own choice as long as you don’t mess with the lighting and colors.
Can I repost the photos anywhere?
With attribution (credit).
Who owns the Intellectual Property rights?
In absence of an explicitly signed contract, under Singapore Copyright Law the IP rights belong to the creator (me), but I license it to you freely for personal use.
Can I sell derivative work with your photos such as prints?
For commercial use (selling to the public for revenue) — ask first. For personal use like printing for keepsakes or gift to your friends, you can freely do it.
Fun
Do you take sparkler photos?
Yes, and I love them. Just don’t set yourself or your cos on fire.
